11:30-12:30– The Internet of Things, Hype or Hazard.  The Internet of Things, (IoT) refers to a network of physical objects with Internet connectivity; the “things” communicate with one another. This session explores the IoT, its relationship to RIM and IG, and how your organization can prepare for and manage both the threats and opportunities it presents.

Upon completing this seminar, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the concept and nature of the IoT
  2. Identify threats and opportunities the IoT may present to an organization
  3. Engage with stakeholders in discussion about how to best mitigate IoT-related threats

Facilitator Bio: Julie J. Colgan, IGP, CRM is head of information governance solutions for Nuix and past president of ARMA International. Colgan brings more than 15 years of experience as a records and information management practitioner and advisor, and is a respected thought leader in information governance. Colgan’s current passion revolves around developing technology solutions that fit today’s and tomorrow’s information and business realities.
