Records, Resources, and Research: Finding Your Ancestors

Join us for our May meeting and learn about the basics of genealogical research and the wealth of resources that are available on-line, locally, and within a short drive from Greater Cincinnati. Professional Genealogist, Derek Davey, will share his insights from his 30 years of experience on how to get started to tackling brick walls when researching your family tree.
Derek S. Davey is a Professional Genealogist and owner of Davey Associates, LLC. He has been researching his own family since 1974 when he was thirteen years old. He specializes in Upper Midwest and New England research, as well as computer genealogy and civil war research. He is a member of the National Genealogical Society, the Association of Professional Genealogists, and is currently a Trustee for the Ohio Genealogical Society. He lectures on a variety of topics related to genealogy in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and provides genealogy instruction at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. He graduated with a BA degree in History from the University of Toledo and holds a Certificate from Boston University in Genealogy. Derek lives in Toledo, OH with his wife and son.
